Man, that sunlight is bright! So what have I missed? Arab state revolutions? Japanese nuclear meltdowns? Biffy Clyro winning X-Factor? £100 to fill my car with petrol? And what on earth happened to Gordon Brown? What a world – I’m off back into the studio!

Anyway, in the meantime, the long overdue Azrock & Pogo album extravaganza has reached an early stage of completion. Well, still a bit of polishing and artwork to do, but it’s time for a sneak preview.

The very exciting early christmas present for Azrock & Pogo is that we have reached our fundraising target on SliceThePie to become the 26th Artist on SliceThePie to enter the hall of fame and get the funds to record an album!

Ok you've got to to admit I'm on a roll now - two blog posts in two days!

What makes that even more impressive is that there's still no evidence that anybody has or is reading any of them!

Anyway - today's purpose is to point you towards a few reviews of our music.

"This is a band that just makes you want to set your iPod to 'repeat' as you bask in its sexy vocals and infectious, chilled, funky groove. Delicious. One of the most impressive and slick sounding bands I've heard in a while." is the words of Radio DJ Jools Slater from Vixen 101 fm.

"... the most beautiful female lead vocal you're ever likely to hear" is Steve's (from www.the-mag.me.uk) take on "I'll Wait Here".

"... as their grasp on musical fundamentals is impressive, it’s hard to see them failing ..." is the opinion of RockPulse online music zine.

Also - today our fundraising pot passed another landmark - £10,000!! I don't like to tempt fate but, dare I say it, it looks like (fingers crossed!), maybe, just maaaayyyyybe - we might make it and the whole world will have to re-write the top 10 albums-of-all-time lists (well - sometime next year anyway!).

Songwriting Awards

We are very proud to announce that our song "I'll Wait Here" has done extremely well in TWO major songwriting awards this year! It was a finalist in the 2009 Uk Songwriting Contest (top 2% of over 6,000 songs!) and was in the top five in the worldwide Song Of The Year' contest for September 09 - which put it in the top 0.3% of our category (not to mention a place on the promo CD).

It's also fantastic to see Azrock & Pogo have now climbed to prime position in the SliceThePie.com fundraising showcase with a total of £4,853 (32% of our total). Keep that money and vouchers pumping in!

Progress Update

Yes I know I know ... I don't get round to updating this news page much. I'll start doing it daily when I've organised myself better. In fact - if you're reading this now it's probably well and truly archived and I'm currently posting daily snippets! Anwyay . . . progress update:

Firstly we have been steadily climbing the SliceThePie finance ladder and are currently on £3,486 (23% of the total) - which puts us in second place! So huge thanks to all those who have invested so far.
We have a deadline of the end of January 2010 to get 50% (£7,500) and then another three months for the rest - so what are you waiting for?

Also - SliceThePie have made it to the final five of the world famous 2009 Mashables award for internet innovation. All it needs to win is lots of votes before 13th December 2009. Voting only takes a few seconds so do it at this link and each person can vote once a day, so don't forget!

Chapter Two posted

Those of you who are twitching with anxiety over what could happen now that Azrock and Pogo have met and joined forces can finally relax! - The next chapter is now live on their website.

There's a lot more yet to come - we're still only at the beginning of the beginning (but we're no longer at the beginning of the beginning of the beginning!)

Azrock and Pogo Website Launched

After a few delays and a lot of pulling together, Azrock & Pogo's website has finally been launched.

The website is an amazing 3d interactive book and on visiting it you will notice the first chapters of the story of Azrock & Pogo are within it's pages.

Azrock & Pogo were selected for a SliceThePie showcase. This means they were in the top ten out of roughly 1,500 other artists as rated by SliceThePie's scouts.

They now have six months to raise £15,000 to record their first album. Investors will share in the success of the album and all other A&P activities.

You can even invest without dipping into your pocket if you become a SliceThePie scout - review tracks and you will get vouchers to invest!
